Top 100 Novels of the 20th Century
I'm always a little surprised how many people have a tendency to read recently published works at the expense of books which have stood the test of time.
I tend to prefer non fiction to fiction and therefore only familiar with around 10% of the books on the following Top 100 Books of the 20th Century. Are there some obvious candidates missing from the list or that deserve a far different ranking than the team at Modern Library have selected?
Where is James A Michener? I want some of his books on the list.

I was shocked to not see 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' on the list! But I do remember reading THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE by Muriel Spar, if I remember correctly its only a short one but I would definitely recommend giving it read!

I was surprised to find that I had read some of the books on the list. ๐ And happy to find one of my favorites, The elements of style, on the nonfiction list.
Best regards, Niklas ๐
