We’ve Got People by Ryan Grim
This book was released May 28th, 2019! I just purchased the kindle version for only $10. The author, Ryan Grim, tracks the history of the Democratic Party in the US. I heard about this book on The Intercept. I’m excited to read it on my flight to the US today. ✈️

Interesting. I just learned that the Democrats originally was pro slavery and the Republicans against it. I would have expected the opposite. Apparently both parties have changed a lot in 150 to 200 years.
Best regards, Niklas 🎈
The parties’ ideologies sort of switched many decades ago ☺️

It’s an overlooked historical development. In fact some old politicians, senators for instance, still were labeled as democrats for their entire career even though their ideology was republican, which is unfair. Some simply refused to switch their party label.

That reminds me of a Netflix series I just finished. Turn: Washington’s Spies. I liked it a lot. It is based on a book, but the book used many real events and characters from the war with Britain in the end of 18th century America.
Best regards, Niklas 🎈
